Ge Aviation - Cyber Security
The cyber security team is focused on mitigating risk and protecting intellectual property. I worked with a team of Cyber Investigators and Incident Response Specialists focused on internal threats, ensuring that GE Employees were not compromising company data. The application aggregated data from multiple data loss protection tools and generated a risk profile that would be analyzed to determine security threats or breaches.
My Role
I conducted UX research and design for this project, working closely with the Product Owner and Stakeholders to develop product roadmaps. Essential research was done early on to understand business and stakeholder goals as well as user needs and objectives that informed the product roadmap. As we iterated through each feature, I created wireframes and prototypes, validating design solutions through user testing and user interviews.
The Goal
The main goal of the redesign of this application from a user’s perspective was to streamline the process of analyzing a case. Using the previous application, the user took approximately 10 minutes and 26 “clicks” in the UI to conclude if a case should be escalated or not. The new design of the application displayed all the relevant information on one screen allowing the user to make a quick decision. A case can be analyzed and escalated within a couple of minutes with 5 or less clicks.
User Research
In the beginning stages of the project, I interviewed stakeholders and users and created journey maps to understand their current process. We were able to identify the main pain points and opportunities for improvement in the new system.

Final Mocks and Prototype
Application mockups and prototypes were created in sketch and Invision allowing me to user test and iterate through each feature.
